Baby Gender Predictions

So, I decided to go ahead and post some old wives tales and myths in how to figure out the sex of the babies! Granted, twins are slightly different but we will see in the end if these predictions hold true or not. I actually stole all these myths off a friend of mine's (Tate) blog who recently had her very own cute baby boy! 


  1. Carrying high means a girl is on the way; low predicts a baby boy: ????
  2. Breakouts mean a little girl is stealing mama’s beauty: GIRLS
  3. If baby’s heart rate is over 140 bpm baby is a girl. If it’s 140 or less, baby is a boy: GIRLS
  4. Legend says mama will crave sweets with a girl and saltys with a boy: ????
  5. The Mayans believed that if the mama’s age at conception and the year of the baby’s birth are both even or odd, it’s a girl. If one is even and the other is odd, it’s a boy: BOY
  6. Morning sickness means pink. If you're stricken with a queasy stomach during your first trimester think ribbons and bows. if you sail through your pregnancy with nary an upset stomach, it's blue all the way: BOYS
  7. Pay attention to which way you lay down in bed tonight. If you prefer sleeping on your left side, you'll have a boy. Right side? You’re pregnant with a girl: BOYS
  8. If a toddler boy shows interest in your belly, you'll have a girl. If he ignores you, it's a boy: BOYS
  9. According to the Chinese gender predictor based on mama’s age at conception and the month of conception, my baby is a: GIRLS
 Based on these predictions, it seems I may be having Boys! I have taken another quiz online and it said based on my answers I'm 74% likely to have girls and only 26% likely to have boys. So, I guess I am all over the place!! Guess we will just have to wait a few more months to figure it out!

 Based on people that have seen me or I've told them stuff I've gone through with this pregnancy, what do you think I'll be having?? I'm sure you have your own predictions or secret wants... Feel free to share! :)

    Ae's heartbeat was consistently above 140 until the very end of pregnancy. I did carry low, didn't have acne breakouts (by the way, that's hormone related... Too much estrogen in your system can cause excessive acne, whether you're pregnant or not. :) ), no cravings, both birth years even, prayed off any nausea/morning sickness, I hated sleeping on my side and slept on my stomach until 24-26 weeks, wasn't around kiddos to find out, and Chinese gender predictor said "girl." [I just looked that last one up...]

    We waited to find out Ae's gender at birth, and I never looked into old wives' tales. If you had asked me around week 34 whether I was having a boy or a girl, I would've told you a boy. By that point, I just /knew/. So I wasn't really surprised when he was born. :)

    I kinda think they will be boys, don't really have a reason why I think that, just guessing really ;) For me the Chinese predictor said Naomi would be a boy, but I did have lots of morning sickness 1st trimester. I totally thought it was going to be a boy until the day before we found out. I had a dream it was a girl with lots of dark hair, & sure enough that's what happened :D I'm so excited for you guys!! ~Esther <3
