25 Weeks: It's Time to Exercise.

I can't believe I'm already at 25 weeks! I certainly feel it most days. I feel huge. I know people keep saying I look small-ish but I certainly don't feel it. I feel like a beached whale. My belly is starting to get in the way of how I move, too. Kyle will laugh at me when I try to stand up sometimes. I guess it would be rather funny! I know it will only get worse, too! While some people have mentioned I don't look that big for carrying twins, I did have one of my team interpreters tell me I looked 7 months pregnant, which won't be for another few weeks! Hahah! So I guess to at least one person I look big.

After weighing 2.5 lbs more this week than I did last week (I blame the cookies and pie more than the growing babies)... I decided I needed to start exercising in some way. So, I have been doing really light cardio from 30-45 minutes as much as possible. Nothing crazy, of course, simply because prior to the pregnancy I wasn't doing a whole lot. The general rule is whatever you do prior to pregnancy, you can continue to do during pregnancy. Runners can keep running, etc. Since I wasn't much of a runner prior to getting pregnant, I certainly am not starting now! I stick to riding a stationary bike or walking. Regardless, I did it for a majority of the week and have felt good about it. Since it is still a really light exercise, I don't feel like I'm doing much, but I know it's better than nothing.

Symptoms
  • I've gained almost 17 lbs total.
  • Restricted movements due to the belly getting in the way.
  • Braxton Hicks Contractions - still not regular. They randomly come and go.
  • Eye Sensitivity - heat mainly bothers it the most.
  • Heartburn - just a little bit this week. It woke me up and unfortunately I had no milk around.
Kyle's band had their holiday party this past week, too. That was fun. Kyle had to participate in a Secret Santa, and the gifts he received were a laser level, for making sure things are level and straight for hanging pictures, etc, and he also got a funny book you leave in the bathroom for people to enjoy while they're doing their business! That book just so happened to be perfect because he already had a few, so it will match his collection quite nicely. :)

My next appointment isn't for another 2 weeks. I'm scheduled to have a growth scan ultrasound, so they will measure how the babies are growing to make sure they are doing okay. I will also meet with the doctor for another check up! Kyle will be back from KY at that time and the rest of the band will be gone on leave, so he thinks he will be able to come with me to both appointments that day since he won't really have anything to do. I pray that can happen! Plus, it will be in the brand new hospital that is much closer to my home than the other hospital. I'm excited to finally see it and use it!

We received our replacement glider, too. That was exciting! Kyle put it together and thankfully there are no problems with it like the other one. We have it sitting up in the nursery, ready to be used. The one that didn't work properly is still sitting in our family room. We use it, too. So I guess technically we have 2! Today, later this afternoon, we are going to pick up one of the cribs we ordered. I got a steal on cyber Monday from Babies R Us. A crib that originally cost $399 only cost $99. Score! I went ahead and bought it, and it's already in, so we have to go pick it up and hopefully put it together tonight. I can't wait for the nice nursery furniture we ordered back in Oct to finally come in. I'm getting antsy! I can't wait to finally set up our babies' room! :)

Enjoy your holiday shopping. Don't spend too much. Remember the reason for the season ;-)

Much love.
