By the end of the week my cough had practically subsided and my throat didn't hurt anymore but I still needed the tissues! Sleep was returning, too, which is always a plus! :) Maybe it had to do with the fact that Kyle was back home with me, so I was officially happy again and my body recovered.
The day Kyle came back, was our 3 year anniversary from our first date. It was a great gift :) We went to Olive Garden to continue our tradition! It was super yummy.
Symptoms:
- Facial acne - no matter what I do, it's all over my forehead...still! I think I have acne scarring too. I made it out of high school alive without it and then when I get pregnant, it all goes down hill.
- Heartburn - This might be from all the Christmas cookies mom sent home with Kyle...but they are yummy and well worth it!
- Hip pain
- Lower Back Pain
- Struggle with deep breaths
- Rapid heart beat/Pounding heart
- Charlie Horse in my feet/legs
The rest of the baby furniture is at the store! I am so stinking excited to finally get it and set it up! We have to wait until next week, though, so we can ask one of Kyle's friends to help us out with his truck. It will be a good Christmas gift...to have the nursery all set up and ready for our little twinnies!
I also had a growth scan & prenatal appointment. Kyle was able to join me for the prenatal appointment which was awesome. We have been so lucky that he could come see most of these appointments. I was worried at the beginning that he wouldn't be able to come to any of these appointments!
The growth scan took about 40 minutes or so. Kyle didn't come to this appointment. The technician took measurements and pictures of all the different anatomical aspects of the babies, which is why it took so long. She kept snickering and making comments about how cute the babies were based on how they were behaving. At first Baby B was sitting on Baby A's head. Then their heads were touching. She said they were not shy, and were flaunting themselves all over the place. She asked me to not look at the screen since I wanted to keep the sexes a surprise. At one point she said, "Well, it's good you're not looking because baby B is flaunting what's between their legs" - haha!
Apparently these babies move like crazy. At my last appointment they were in horizontal positions and now they are both vertical. Baby B is breached, though, so they still aren't both head down. Fortunately, there is still time for that to change. My doctor said that we will have to think about different delivery options.
The good news is that both babies are growing well and at very similar sizes, which makes me hope they aren't suffering from Twin to Twin Transfusion syndrome which is fantastic! Baby A weighs approximately 2lbs 1oz and measures about 26 weeks 6 days. The heartbeat was about 163 bpm. Baby B weighs 2lbs 3oz and measures about 27 weeks and about 165bpm. Only 1 day apart in measurements and very close in weight, too! So, that is great. :)
My doctor told me to take a glucose test as soon as possible to test for gestational diabetes (GD). I told him I'd prefer to wait until Monday since I ate a cookie or two before my appointment, hehe. I'm already worried that I'll have it, so I want to increase my chances of not having a positive test for GD, which is why i'm waiting until Monday for the test! No cookies that day! If I fail it, then I'll have to sit and take a more extensive 3 hour test which I hear is awful. Prayers that I don't have it!
I also had to get my TDaP vaccine and the flu vaccine today. Kyle has luckily already had both of these vaccines so he just got to sit pretty and watch his wife get prodded. The TDaP shot is primarily to protect me from Pertussis (Whooping Cough) which can be deadly to babies. So, it's definitely good that both of us now have the vaccine and that's one more thing to help keep our babies safe!
Everything has gone well this week! Let's see what week 28 brings (other than just Christmas joy)!
