Well, we have survived our first Christmas and New Years as a Kentucky family. All of this happened from the comfort of our very first home. Kyle and I are officially home owners and it is incredibly scary and exciting all rolled together.
The girls celebrated their very first Christmas which was exciting. We are thankful they didn't receive that many toys since we are trying to limit the amount they own. Our goal is to help them understand what Christmas is about...the actual meaning behind it. We don't want them to become materialistic and like the stereotypical kids on Christmas morning. However, we will definitely indulge them in a gift or two from Santa each year.
There was a lot of excitement this year going from house to house, seeing lots of people, being in a new home. The girls handled it fairly well. In fact, the night we celebrated Christmas Eve at my Grandma's house, they were exceptionally good. They stayed up way past their bedtime and weren't even fussy. Of course, we paid for it a little on Christmas Day because they hadn't gotten as much sleep as they were used to.
I'm sure 2015 will be a great year for us! The girls will celebrate their 1st birthday in a few months (which I still can't believe). We will be staying in one place for the whole year! Woot woot. It's nice to be setting down roots, finally.
